Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for the position of Resident Assistant on the Dahlonega campus. The role of a Resident Assistant (RA) is that of a live-on liaison between the Student Affairs Staff and UNG residents. The Resident Assistant's primary function are to assist Residence Life in creating a positive residential environment for their residents. RAs must also demonstrate a commitment to the goals of the Residence Life Program as well as an adherence to UNG Policy.

Responsibilities
  • The RA's primary functions are to:
    • Offer peer assistance and directions to residents.
    • Provide opportunities to continue learning outside of the classroom
    • Enforce community standards and residence life policies.
    • Report maintenance and safety issues to the proper departments.
    • Sitting desk duty inside a residence hall.

Required Qualifications
  • Must have completed one semester of college beyond high school graduation.
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA while being in good standing with the University of North Georgia (financial, judicial and/or academic).
  • Must complete a housing contract and assume all financial/legal obligations related to the contract.
  • Must attend at least one New RA Interest Session, (if invited) attend Group Process & (if invited) be available for an Individual Interview during New RA Process Weekend.
  • Prior leadership experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with event planning and working with budgets is preferred.
