Responsibilities
  • Collects library materials from return receptacles.
  • Returns materials using the Integrated Library System (Alma), organizes all library materials for shelving, and shelves all library materials in appropriate areas.
  • Tasks also include searching for books, processing (checking books in or out), and managing Hold Requests.
  • Maintains library shelving and collections through shifting (physically moving collections of books), weeding, and shelf-reading projects.
  • Provides a friendly and knowledgeable level of service to all library staff and scholars, and assist in any additional projects or tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Assist the head of access services and delivery with authoring, updating, and maintaining training materials, meeting notes, project management documentation, and other policy, procedure, and general record keeping for the Collections Access Unit at FSU Libraries.
  • Assist the Access Services Librarian with pulling reports and data analysis for services provided by the Collections Access Unit as part of ASD's departmental assessment program.
  • Assist the head of access services & delivery with researching and implementing new functionality in Alma & Primo in order to improve scholar access to general collection materials and library delivery services.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working in a library or similar academic environment.

Anticipated Salary Range

$15 per hour.

This is an OPS/temporary job.

Based on the duties, this position may require completion of a criminal history background check.

This hybrid position will require working 15-20 hours per week both onsite at Strozier Library and remote as needed with mandatory in person attendance at the weekly Collections Access Unit meeting.
