Adjunct - Clinical Instructor Radiography Program at InsideHigherEd
Job Description
SUMMARY STATEMENT
This position supervises freshman, sophomore radiography students, ensuring program outcomes are met, and students demonstrate clinical competency. Working closely with the clinical coordinator of the radiography program and the medical imaging program coordinator, this position provides education and oversight for radiography students in the clinical area.
HCC is pursuing an exceptional candidate for up to 29 hours or 2 candidates for 15 hours each.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
A. Provides education and oversight for students in the clinical area.
- Provides clinical and didactic instruction for students in accordance with program objectives.
 - Critiques students' clinical performance to insure clinical competence.
 - Maintains appropriate clinical performance records, including clinical assessments and competencies, student conference forms, and attendance records.
 - Submits progress reports to the Clinical Coordinator on student performance at the clinical education site.
 - Orients students to the clinical affiliate, including hospital policies, department policies and procedures, including radiation safety policies.
 - Implements the clinical rotation schedule as planned by the Clinical Coordinator.
 
B. Collaborates with appropriate staff
- Attends meetings as planned by the Radiography Program Coordinator and Clinical Coordinator to provide feedback on the clinical education component and to remain aware of program revisions and goals.
 - Attends professional radiography functions to stay current with technology and education advancements.
 - Attends health sciences division meetings and program specific advisory meetings.
 
C. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline preferred with an equivalent of five years full-time successful work experience in radiography. Credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), current MD and West Virginia Radiography license may be required. Successful teaching experience preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop rapport and professional relationships with allied health students, faculty, and employers. Organizational and computer skills are required. Ability to work independently.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
Valid driver's license.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Normal office environment with some need to work evening and weekend special events. Position requires local travel to meet with employers.
