General Summary
Indiana Tech is accepting applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach courses which support the Medical Coding Certificate in our CAHIIM accredited Health Information Technology/Management programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Teach courses as defined by course and learning objectives established through the college and defined in teaching letter of agreement.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Health Information Management or Health Informatics or related field required from a regionally accredited institution
- RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CCS, CPC or other coding certification required
- Demonstration of developing effective relationships that mentor and advise students for academic and career success
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population
- Experience teaching online college courses preferred
- Applicants should be able to use technology effectively in all aspects of their work, including teaching
Experience
- College-level teaching experience preferred
- Experience teaching health information is preferred
- Previous experience teaching CPT, ICD-10-CM, and CD-10-PCS preferred
- 3+ years' practical work experience as a Medical Coder or equivalent preferred
- 3+ years practical work experience as a Health Information professional preferred
- Student-centered teaching approaches
Working Conditions
Work is normally performed in an online classroom environment, through Canvas Learning Management System.
