- Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
- Evaluates and advises students
- Participates in departmental and College affairs
- Develops curricula
- Recruits students
- Serves on committees
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Emergency or Disaster Management, Organizational Leadership or Homeland Security; and Associate of Science degree in Fire Science or Emergency Medical Services; and Active Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training (BFST) certification as a Fire Service Instructor Level III; and Six (6) years of full-time Fire Service work experience in an organized fire department; and One (1) year of teaching experience in fire service or fire prevention.

- Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Science; and Active Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training (BFST) certification as a Fire Service Instructor Level III; and Six (6) years of full-time Fire Service work experience in an organized fire department; and One (1) year of teaching experience in fire service or fire prevention.
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Must be able to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include morning, evening and/or weekend assignments
- Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
