Lecture: Tuesday, Thursday, 09:00 - 10:20 AM (on-campus)
Lab: Tuesday, 10:30 AM - 1:20 PM (on-campus)
Semester Period: SPRING: Jan 20, 2026, to May 7, 2026
Course Description:Anatomy & Physiology I (BIO 250) is a study of the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, with emphasis on the organization of the body, cells and tissues, integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, and special senses. This is the first of a two-course sequence in anatomy and physiology. It is intended to provide a strong background in human anatomy and physiology for students in the STEM and Allied Health majors. Dissection is required as a part of this course.
Education and/or Experience:Required
- Master's Degree or higher in Biology or a related discipline
- Previous experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology, with a lab component
Preferred
- Minimum of one year teaching experience
Special Conditions
- PA residency required
- Provide primary instruction and lab skills training, using the approved course curriculum and lab equipment.
- Monitor student progress, provide individualized student feedback, remedial support, and referrals as appropriate.
- Maintain all student records by entering student grades and withdrawals promptly, and upon completion of the course, provide students with the final course grade and evaluation.
- Maintain a safe environment for students in the lab and demonstrate compliance with procedures and protocols for lab cleanliness and standards.
- Adhere to procedures and policies and maintain good communications and working relationships with faculty, staff, and lab assistants.
- Participate in teacher meetings and professional development activities as required.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Experience with curriculum development.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to establish positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
