Position Summary
We seek an Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics to teach a section of 4-credit Calculus I and two sections of a 1-credit Calculus Recitation course to undergraduate students. There may be opportunities to teach other courses, especially College Algebra I and College Algebra II. The instructor is responsible for providing high-quality, engaging instruction that helps students learn quantitative concepts. Other responsibilities include:
Create a syllabus detailing course policiesCreate and maintain a course Canvas pageKeep student grades up to date on Canvas throughout the semesterCreate class and homework assignments to reinforce course conceptsCreate exams to assess student learningMaintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.Collaborate with full-time faculty to ensure consistency and alignment of course contentProvide timely and constructive feedback to studentsMaintain compliance with all institutional, departmental, and safety policiesEssential Functions

Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics or a closely related fieldClassroom teaching experience required; college-level teaching experience preferredStrong communication and organizational skillsRequired Skills and Qualifications
Strong background in mathematicsClassroom teaching experience required; college-level teaching experience preferredExperience using digital learning platforms (Canvas or similar)Familiarity with active learning pedagogies, including group work, flipped classrooms, and student presentations is strongly preferredStrong communication and organizational skills.Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environmentAdditional Information
