JOB GOAL: To advance the college’s mission, vision, principles, values and strategic initiatives through continuous improvement decisions. Pay is $1,304 per credit hour. Schedule: Mandatory Orientation occurs at the beginning of the semester. Hours/Days vary based on student placement needs or course assignment. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Kirkwood Community College seeks a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a RT Adjunct Instructor. This candidate will potentially teach in all modalities in the program. However, the program is looking primarily for adjunct faculty to teach as a clinical faculty instructor. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge base in their discipline and teaching experience at the college level is desirable. Primary duties will include instructing students in courses, collaborating with lead course faculty, communicating with department staff, students, and other faculty. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical Duties Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and assessment of respiratory therapy students during clinical placements, including orientation to clinical policies, procedures, and standards of patient care. Facilitate student development by delivering constructive feedback, implementing remediation strategies when needed, and ensuring a safe, ethical, and supportive learning environment. Demonstrate and promote evidence-based practices in respiratory therapy, serving as a role model for clinical reasoning, professional behavior, and interprofessional collaboration. Collaborate with academic faculty to align clinical experiences with curriculum objectives, monitor student competency completion, and maintain accurate documentation of progress and attendance. Participate in program, department, and institutional initiatives, including attending meetings, faculty orientation, and ongoing professional development. Lecture
