Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant position plays a vital role in supporting the operations of our container and sales business. This full-time role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing phone communications, organizing appointments, and performing general clerical tasks. The ideal candidate will possess intermodal experience that is essential for efficiently coordinating operations within our industry. This position is based in East St. Louis, IL, where you will contribute to the smooth functioning of our office and assist in enhancing our service delivery to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phone communications:
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally.
- Assist customers with inquiries and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
- Organize and set appointments:
- Schedule and coordinate tasks related to the administrative aspects of operations.
- Ensure timely follow-up on all scheduled appointments and tasks.
- Perform clerical tasks:
- Maintain accurate filing systems for important documents.
- Create and label files and documents as required.
- Support the team with general clerical work to enhance productivity.
- Utilize intermodal experience:
- Apply knowledge of intermodal container operations to streamline processes.
- Support logistics planning and coordination within the team.
Environment:
- Our office at this location operates inside a converted shipping container.
- Normal office amenities are limited
- Education:
- GED or equivalent educational qualification.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within the intermodal or logistics industry.
- Skills:
- Strong clerical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy.
- Proficiency in using office software and telephone systems.
- Additional Information:
- Intermodal experience preferred.
