Position Type

The Administrative Assistant performs a wide range of professional, administrative, and support tasks for the Office of Finance and Grants Administration (OFGA) and provides direct support to the Department Administrators within the team. This role involves coordination, planning, and effective communication with multiple departments across the medical campus as well as with BU central offices. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: placing orders and processing invoices; coordinating with ISSO and preparing required documents for visa applications; arranging travel for OFGA staff; and submitting ISR and FSR requests. The position is also responsible for managing IT service requests, processing check deposits, handling petty cash and honorariums, supporting activities related to faculty recruitment, assisting with internal documentation and reporting efforts, and performing other tasks as assigned by the direct manager and the Director of OFGA. Experience with maintaining and updating websites is a plus.

Required Skills
- Associates degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with social media and website management preferred.
- Prior experience in an academic or research environment is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
