Job Description

What you will do:

Join us as the nucleus of our digital twin and simulation program for the Next Generation Line (NGL) and Future Factory initiatives. In this role, you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including digital twin vendors, to develop, validate, and pioneer advanced digital models and simulations. You’ll help drive the integration of CAD, simulation, and digital twin technologies into equipment and process development, enabling virtual commissioning, scenario planning, and continuous optimization.

In this role you will:
  • Serve as a key contributor to the Next Generation Line (NGL) and Future Factory initiatives
  • Build and scale digital twin and simulation capabilities for advanced manufacturing
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering, IT, and external digital twin vendors.
  • Support equipment development, virtual commissioning, and process optimization

How you will do it:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain digital twin models and 3D CAD simulation environments for new and existing manufacturing equipment and lines, supporting NGL and Future Factory strategies.
  • Collaborate with equipment development partners, digital twin vendors, internal engineering, and IT/OT teams to ensure seamless data exchange, model integration, and compliance with Clarios’ Unified Namespace, enterprise data standards, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Define and document simulation requirements and deliverables in Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs) and RFPs.
  • Support virtual commissioning, emulation, predictive maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing systems using digital twin platforms, including extensibility for XR (AR/VR) training.
  • Analyze simulation results and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, leveraging data analytics and AI/ML models for complex simulations.
  • Ensure digital twin models include all required functional components, actuators, sensors, and closed-loop controls, and are designed for global scalability and adaptability across Clarios facilities.
  • Document changes to models and environments for traceability and compliance with IP protection frameworks and data security requirements.
  • Lead the adoption of digital twin and simulation best practices, share knowledge, mentor peers, and help build a community of practice.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in CAD, simulation, and digital twins, and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

What we look for:

  • Visionary thinking: Ability to conceptualize and architect future-state digital manufacturing systems.
  • Technical curiosity: Eager to learn and experiment with new modeling and simulation technologies.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively with internal and external partners, including digital twin vendors.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to influence and align stakeholders globally.
  • Analytical skills: Able to interpret simulation data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and can manage shifting priorities.
  • Mentorship: Demonstrate a commitment to life-long learning and a willingness to share knowledge and support the growth of others

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or process design, with exposure to CAD, simulation, or digital twin technologies. Relevant internships, academic projects, or early professional experience are highly valued.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX) and simulation software (e.g., Tecnomatix, AnyLogic, Simulink)
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors or integrating third-party digital twin solutions
  • Experience in automation, robotics, smart factory systems, and data architectures (IoT, closed-loop controls).
  • Experience with SSOW development and RFP processes for equipment and digital twin projects is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • We value candidates who have shown initiative, leadership, or strong results in academic, internship, or project environments.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
