Job Description

APP fellow may be required to attend academic sessions and/or complete presentations/lectures/QI projects as determined by APP Fellowship Program. The Dermatology APP Fellow will receive 1 year of training in Charleston, SC where they will train in clinic alongside physician learners such as residents and fellows in learning a comprehensive approach to patient care. This includes specialized training in therapeutic procedures such as biopsies, advanced injections and cryotherapy. APPs who have completed all fellowship requirements, will be transitioned to a full-time position in dermatology in Lancaster, SC. Two-year post fellowship commitment is required. Fair Labor Standards Act: Salaried with a housing stipend for training in Charleston, SC Hours per week: 40; with additional didactic requirements Scheduled Shift: M F Patient Focus: Outpatient, minimal inpatient Patient Age Range: 0 years-death Preferred Training: Completion of an accredited NP Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN as noted below APRN FNP (birth to death) Stable chronic disease state management, primary care across the lifespan. Licensure, Certifications, Registrations All certifications must be current and complete prior to start: Basic Life Support If applicable, DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day. Job Duties: Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline Performs therapeutic procedures in accordance with procedural privileges, skill and proficiency as approved by the Clinical Division Chief Skin biopsy KOH exam Scabies prep Cryotherapy Intralesional injection Suturing Topical and injectable local anesthetics Assisting in Mohs surgery Debridement Ultraviolet light therapy Curettage and electrodessication Initiates referrals to other health care providers, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician Documents and bills for direct care provided when appropriate Utilizes current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research Please inquire for more details...
