Job SummaryThe University of North Georgia is accepting applications for an Assistant Director for Operations and Cadet Leader Development position. The position reports to the Associate Director for Operations & Cadet Leader Development. The Assistant Director executes the day-to-day operations and logistics that bring cadet training and leadership events to life. Serving as event NCOIC for assigned missions, the Assistant coordinates facilities, transport, equipment, RMS packets, vendor actions, and on-site control, while mentoring cadet planners and specialty units to standard.
Evening/weekend duty during peak events; off-hours coordination as required.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and holds the responsibility of serving as a mandatory reporter for all Clery Act crimes.

Responsibilities- Event Execution & Site Control - Build and run task checklists; coordinate rooms/venues, field sites, transport, billeting, equipment draw/turn-in; lead set/strike and real-time problem solving for PCC, FROG Week, Boar's Head, NLC, Parent-Alumni, Gold Rush, ceremonies, and assigned events.
- Risk & Compliance Administration - Prepare RMS packets, safety plans, permits, range/facility requests; conduct pre-event inspections; ensure medical/COMMS/EMCON plans and accountability rosters are in place.
- Training Administration & Battle Tracking - Maintain rosters, task orgs, OPORD annexes, movement tables, and timelines; update the shared ops tracker and publish EXSUMs/FRAGOs as directed.
- Specialty Units & Team Support - Support Color Guard, Blue Ridge Rifles, and other units; schedule ranges/rehearsals; oversee the Combat Action Shooting Team coach/contractor; ensure logistics and risk controls are resourced.
- Stakeholder Coordination - Work daily with Athletics, SCOM, Plant Ops, Transportation, Public Safety, Student Involvement, PCE, and external partners (5th RTB, GAARNG, GSDF, JROTC, veterans' orgs, vendors).
- AARs & Sustainment - Collect lessons, photos, and data; update SOP checklists; manage consumables and small-kit inventories; recommend fixes for friction points.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong organizer and communicator
- Proficient with MS Office/SharePoint or similar
- Applies risk management and Army standards with precision
- Professional, uniformed presence as directed.
- Bachelor's degree or a Graduate of the U.S. Army Senior Leader Course.
- Completion of the United States Army Ranger Course, Basic Leadership Course, Advanced Leadership Course, and Basic Military Mountaineering Course.
- 8-12 yrs Army leadership; 2+ yrs ops/logs; executes complex events to standard; mentors college-age leaders.
- Field work with frequent standing/walking and occasional lifting up to ~35 lbs.
- Uniformed presence as directed;
- Ability to meet Army height/weight (HT/WT) and professional appearance standards preferred.
- Ranger Instructor (RI) preferred
- The proposed salary range for this position is: $50,957-$56,052.
