ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Office of the Superintendent - Strategic Planning Section
Number of Vacancies: 1 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)
Salary range: $133,836.00 to $150,768.00 annually

Under direction, this class is managerial in nature and accountable for senior manager level functions, duties and responsibilities, and part of the Chicago Police Department's executive level staff.
This Assistant Director position will be focused on managing the Department's relation with the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA); and performing related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Coordinates the Department's overall relationship with CCPSA including the Commission and District Councils
* Provides support to District Commanders in coordinating with their respective District Councils
* Manages the goal-setting process, including the preparation of quarterly updates and the development of annual goals
* Coordinates and fulfills written requests from the Commission and District Councilors
* Plans and organizes meetings and related activities
Additional duties may be required for this position.

DAYS: Monday through Friday
HOURS: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Nine (9) years of experience related to the responsibilities of the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR
* Graduation from an accredited college with an associate's degree in a field related to the duties performed, including seven (7) years of work experience related to the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR
* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field related to the duties performed, including five (5) years of work experience related to the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR
* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree or higher in a field related to the duties performed, including four (4) years of work experience related to the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to successfully complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected.
*Successful candidates must pass a drug screen and a background investigation. People that are offered employment must pass all pre-employment exams prior to appointment.
