Assistant General Manager – Dēliz, Bucktown
Compensation: $70-80k + Quarterly Bonus. Open to Negotiation

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who leads from the floor, not the office. You command presence, connect naturally with guests, and set the tone for the team through energy and example. You’ll oversee a front-of-house team of 30+, report directly to the General Manager, and play a key role in defining what excellence looks like at Dēliz.
We’re looking for a career-driven operator with 3+ years of management experience in high check-average, full-service restaurants. You’re fluent in hospitality — food, wine, service — but also in business: labor management, scheduling, comps, costs, and guest metrics. You understand how to balance warmth with accountability, hospitality with profitability, and people with performance.
You’ll use tools like Toast, SevenRooms, r365, 3rd party delivery platforms, and MarginEdge to track results, coach the team, and keep operations sharp. You’ll be trusted to run shifts, own labor goals, audit nightly performance, reconcile cash, and communicate clearly with both ownership and the back-of-house team. Most importantly, you’ll help shape the rhythm of service and the mindset of a crew that takes pride in the details.

Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the General Manager and assist in daily operations, including overseeing sales, costs, and guest experience.
- Manage the floor during service, touching tables, running food, overseeing staff, and ensuring smooth operations across the restaurant.
- Lead and educate the staff on service standards, including product knowledge, steps of service, wine service, and table-side presence.
- Assist in training, coaching, and supporting staff, while also managing disciplinary actions when needed.
- Open and close the restaurant, including preparing check outs, conducting pre-shifts, writing daily recaps, and doing final walk-throughs.
- Manage FOH schedules, aligning staffing with business needs, special events, and labor budgets.
- Participate in management meetings and collaborate on controlling inventory, labor, and comps to meet budget goals.
- Assist with weekly and monthly inventory.
- Facilitate effective communication between FOH and BOH to ensure smooth operations and a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Builds strong knowledge of third party programs such as Toast and Seven Rooms for daily needs and special events.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager.
- Have in-depth experience with Seven Rooms, Open Table and Toast.
- Have extensive food and beverage knowledge.
- Familiarity with the in's and out's of a beverage program
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly lift and carry up to 10 pounds, with frequent lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Use all required tools, equipment, and cleaning agents safely and efficiently.
- Remain on your feet throughout the shift, moving through various areas of the restaurant, including stairs and surfaces that may be uneven or slippery.
- Be comfortable working in both hot and cold conditions as necessary.
