ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER
Shiraz Kitchen & Wine Bar, led by owner Reza Parhizkaran, is seeking a passionate Assistant General Manager to join the hospitality team at our Chelsea location.
Rooted in Persian–Mediterranean cooking and an award‑winning wine program, Shiraz pairs family recipes with an extensive selection of biodynamic and small‑production wines from across the globe. We’re a warm, lively neighborhood spot—refined yet unpretentious—where generous, shareable dining and heartfelt service meet. Our restaurants have been recognized with MICHELIN Bib Gourmand (2020–2022), NY Times: Very Good, and a 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
About the RoleThe Assistant General Manager (AGM) partners with the General Manager/Owner to lead front‑of‑house service and day‑to‑day operations that reflect our values: seasonal, honest cuisine; a guest‑first mindset; and gracious, memorable hospitality.
What You’ll DoLead & develop the FOH team through training, coaching, and clear accountability.
Champion hospitality on the floor—anticipate needs, engage regulars and VIPs, and build new guest relationships.
Partner with culinary to run smooth, high‑volume services while upholding ticket‑time and pacing standards.
Own the dining room: manage reservations and the book, optimize the floor plan, and execute private/special events.
Drive results: support scheduling, inventory, cost controls, basic financial reporting, and vendor coordination.
Uphold standards for cleanliness, maintenance, and NYC DOH compliance.
Support the wine program: collaborate with the beverage lead on service standards, staff education, and inventory.
Contribute to company initiatives that strengthen our people, our operations, and the guest experience.

3–4 years of management experience in a high‑volume, full‑service restaurant.
NYC DOH Food Protection Certificate (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of team accountability.
Familiarity with basic financial reporting (labor, COGS, inventory).
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Curiosity about wine and willingness to engage in ongoing beverage training.
