Responsibilities

The Department of Psychology at Florida State University seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Behavioral/Systems Neuroscience with a start date in August 2026. Responsibilities will include conducting and publishing research in Neuroscience, teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and providing service to the department through work on committees.

Qualifications

Ph.D. or the highest degree appropriate from an accredited institution in Neuroscience or a related field.

In addition, candidates must have a strong research program with a high likelihood of obtaining extramural funding and the potential for excellent teaching and mentoring. Candidates with lines of laboratory research in any area of Neuroscience are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants whose research programs synergize with existing departmental strengths in chemosensation, learning and memory, neuroendocrinology, and the neurobiology of motivated behavior.
