Job Description
- Teach 18 credits per academic year in Painting and Drawing Area
- Contribute to interdisciplinary offerings such as the First-Year experience or relevant College general education programs
- Develop a coherent artistic stream and maintain a vigorous, ongoing research agenda that produces peer-reviewed exhibitions in high-quality outlets
- Advise students and participate in departmental service activities
- A minimum of an MFA degree in Painting
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level with a minimum two-years college level teaching beyond the Teaching Assistant level
- Active record of recognized professional activity and creative research
- Demonstrates expertise across practice, theory, and technical proficiency with experience teaching at the undergraduate level
- The candidate should be able to work with students across art disciplines who have a broad interest in the liberal arts
- Candidates must have an expertise in foundation painting; experience teaching intermediate and advanced levels along with knowledge of discourses around contemporary art, art history and painting are preferred
- We desire candidates who foster collaboration across other departmental disciplines and are open to non-traditional approaches to the field
