Responsibilities- Teaches undergraduate and graduate music theory courses from among current offerings and/or in the candidate’s area of expertise.
 - Maintains an active agenda of research and publication in the field of music theory.
 - Participates in university and professional service activities, including service on committees, student recruitment and advising, and administration of area exams.
 - Participates in professional service activities nationally and internationally as appropriate.
 
- Hold a completed doctoral degree in Music Theory or equivalent at the time of appointment.
 - Demonstrate a commitment to the recruitment of outstanding students and to fostering an environment that contributes to the vibrancy of the university community.
 
A strong record of scholarly achievement and ongoing research is preferred. We are seeking a dynamic teacher and scholar whose academic interests complement those of our current faculty.
