The Strings area at the Florida State University College of Music invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Violin, a 9-month faculty member at the tenure-earning rank of Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate-level violin students.
  • Recruit and maintain a successful teaching studio.
  • Serve on doctoral and master’s committees and juries.
  • Maintain a professional career as a performing artist.
  • Participate in university and professional service activities nationally and internationally as appropriate.
  • Additional responsibilities may include coaching chamber music and teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
Qualifications
  • Hold a doctoral degree or demonstrate a record of equivalent performance and teaching experience.
  • Hold a record of successful university-level studio teaching experience and proven artistry as a professional performer.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to the recruitment of outstanding students.
  • Demonstrate a proven commitment to creating an environment which contributes to the vibrancy and economy of the university community and engages students.

This is a Faculty position.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
