WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY. The Department of Computer Science invites applications for a non-tenure, teaching track, faculty position as Assistant Teaching Professor of Computer Science or Assistant Professor of the Practice of Computer Science, effective July 1, 2026.
Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required for the Assistant Teaching Professor position, while an earned MS or higher with industry experience is required for the Professor of the Practice position. Qualified applicants will demonstrate their ability to teach courses required for the undergraduate computer science major and minor and contribute to an academic environment that fosters learning and growth for all its stakeholders. Applicants who demonstrate interest and experience in developing new undergraduate courses in areas such as human-computer interaction or software development are of particular interest.
Position Summary: This individual will be expected to teach primarily introductory and core courses for the major and minor in computer science at the undergraduate level (course descriptions for those courses - CSC 111, 112, 201, 231, 250, 251, and 301 - can be found at this webpage: https://bulletin.wfu.edu/courses-az/csc/), participate in departmental, College, and University service, and contribute to the University’s community outreach efforts. The typical teaching load is a total of six courses (3+3) each academic year. This position is eligible for renewal and promotion with progressively longer-term contracts.
