Job Description:
The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, or tenured faculty position at the Assistant, or Associate Professor level in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE). We seek applicants with expertise in data analytics. Areas of methodological focus include, but are not limited to, machine learning/AI engineering, optimization, game theory, and data science and related fields. Ideal candidates will have experience applying ISE methods to specific domains, such as manufacturing, cybersecurity, human and healthcare systems, public health, energy, transportation, and supply chain and logistics.
This position is located in Jacksonville and will support the ISE operations on the Jacksonville campus of the University of Florida. This position will also engage prospective and current students in recruiting, orientation, graduation, networking and other events and represent the ISE department in various functions in the Jacksonville area community. The position has an anticipated start date between May - August 2026.
Successful candidates will be expected to develop a high-quality publication record at UF, supervise Ph.D. students, teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in ISE, and contribute to the Department's service activities. A strong motivation for developing an externally funded research program is essential. Applicants at the Associate Professor level must demonstrate strong records of scholarship, external funding, and service.
UF's Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) offers BS, ME, MS, and Ph.D. degrees, serving approximately 475 undergraduate and 220 graduate students. The Department conducts research in various application areas, including advanced manufacturing, energy, healthcare, finance, supply chain, and transportation systems. ISE faculty engage in theoretical and methodological research in fields such as data analytics, human systems engineering, manufacturing processes, optimization, simulation, and stochastic analysis. Undergraduate degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Strong research record, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and evidence of service, all appropriate to the applicant's rank.
