Career Consulting Partners is partnered with a boutique law firm dedicated to providing businesses with a broad range of legal services. We are seeking a 2 - 4 year Labor & Employment Litigator to join their team! The ideal candidate will have hands-on litigation and counseling experience, be able to manage a case load under supervision, contribute to drafting motions, pleadings, and policies, and engage directly with clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of labor & employment matters (including class actions / PAGA, wage & hour, harassment & discrimination, trade secrets, employee policies, leaves, WARN / RIFs, and training programs), in a collegial environment with strong mentorship and professional growth.



    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on California and federal labor & employment laws (e.g. wage & hour, PAGA, discrimination, leave laws, etc.).
    • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other filings in both state and federal courts.
    • Assist in all phases of litigation, including case intake, factual investigation, depositions, hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
    • Counsel clients on compliance with labor & employment laws: handbook/policy development, employee discipline, terminations, leaves of absence, reductions in force, WARN Act obligations, trade secret protection, drug & alcohol testing, etc.
    • Advise and/or conduct training for management and/or HR on workplace issues (harassment, discrimination, performance issues, leave rights, etc.).
    • Work closely with partners and senior attorneys to develop case strategy and client deliverables.
    • Participate in client meetings and communicate with clients regarding case status, legal risk, and compliance best practices.
    • Stay current on evolving case law and regulatory developments in California and federal labor/employment law.
    • Assist in firm business development: contribute to writing or editing firm publications, blog posts, proposals, or presentations in the labor & employment field.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; admitted to the California Bar with good standing.
    • 2-4 years of litigation experience in labor & employment law
    • Strong writing, analytical, and research skills.
    • Experience drafting motions, pleadings, employment policies, and conducting depositions/participating in hearings is highly preferred.
    • Familiarity with class action / PAGA claims, wage & hour issues, harassment & discrimination claims, leaves (CFRA, FMLA, Pregnancy Disability, etc.), reductions in force / WARN Act, and trade secret protections.
    • Excellent people skills; ability to work with clients, HR personnel, and management.
    • Self-motivated, well organized, able to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with partners and support staff.


    COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

    • Salary: $140,000 - $180,000.00
    • Commitment to an in-office schedule of 2–4 days per week to foster collaboration and strengthen client service

      • Woodland Hills, CA
