Associate, Business Operations Research Solutions & Strategic Partnership



Summary

The Business Analyst will play a critical role in supporting business operations and strategy execution for Research Solutions & Strategic Partnership. This individual will work across teamsincluding Business Development, Finance, and Lab Operationsto track, analyze, and optimize revenue performance, while also supporting strategic initiatives that accelerate growth and partnerships.

This role is ideal for a candidate with ~3 years of experience who is analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-growing biotech environment.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Revenue & Performance Management

  • Assist in setting annual and quarterly revenue goals for Research Solutions & Strategic Partnership.
  • Track revenue performance against targets, preparing weekly/monthly performance reports.
  • Analyze pipelines and bookings to identify revenue gaps, trends, and opportunities.
  • Partner with Finance to support accurate forecasting and budgeting.

2. Business Operations & Process Optimization

  • Support end-to-end business operations from contract execution to revenue capture.
  • Maintain dashboards and trackers to monitor KPIs across projects and partnerships.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and collaborate with teams to streamline operations.

3. Strategic Growth & Partnership Initiatives

  • Support special projects that enhance competitiveness and revenue growth.
  • Provide data-driven insights to evaluate new opportunities, pricing models, and partnership structures.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects with Business Development, Marketing, and R&D.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Ensure smooth coordination between Business Development, Finance, Lab Ops, and Bioinformatics teams.
  • Support leadership in preparing materials for strategic reviews, partner discussions, and internal planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • ~3 years of experience in business operations, sales operations, or financial/business analysis (biotech, healthcare, or life sciences preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and reporting tools.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Location: San Diego, CA (hybrid). Location could be negotiable for right profiles.

Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 annual + performance bonus

Reports to: Chief Strategy Officer (Acting Chief Commercial Officer)
