Educational and Experience Requirement:Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, business, communication, or a related field. Six years of experience in online education, student success, marketing, communications, or in a related field. Experience in an institution of higher education, in CRM systems, student caseload management, and student success strategies preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day operations of the Online Student Success & Growth team within SHSU Online. Provides advanced and complex managerial leadership in strategic outreach, student success, recruitment events, and enrollment/re-enrollment for online students. Ensures strategic communication with prospective and current students, guiding them from inquiry to application, enrollment, and persistence. Aligns operations with SHSU’s strategic priorities of enrollment, retention, and completion.
Primary Responsibilities:Provides leadership, vision, and management for Online Student Success & Growth within SHSU Online. Directs and participates in outreach, programs, and events that support prospective and current online student success. Oversees staff in marketing communications efforts, including calling campaigns, caseload management, and re-enrollment success. Develops and implements techniques for evaluating outreach activities, recruitment events, success strategies, and program effectiveness. Represents SHSU Online. Collaborates with Strategic Enrollment & Innovation (SEI), Integrated Marketing & Communications (IMC), Academic Advising, and Program Directors. Participates in cross-departmental meetings, and coordinates with campus partners, community stakeholders, and external audiences related to online student success. Collaborates with others to oversee the use of CRM tools and reporting dashboards. Prepares and reviews management and productivity reports to track key performance indicators such as inquiry response times, enrollment conversion, and persistence. Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve efficiency, student experience, and enrollment outcomes. Develops policies and procedures for outreach, ensuring compliance with SHSU standards, FERPA, and other applicable regulations. Develops and monitors budget expenditures for the unit. Makes independent decisions under the authority of the Executive Director when the Executive Director is absent. Enforces department policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Knowledge of higher education student success models, local/state/federal regulations, and best practices in online learner success. Ability to manage business functions, supervise staff, and work collaboratively across divisions. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
