Required:Terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Education or a closely related field of study; eligible for tenure and appointment to the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the time of hiring; Expertise in teacher preparation and with disciplinary expertise in a STEM field.
ExperienceThe ideal candidate is collaborative and has a strong interest in developing active partnerships with local and regional schools.Experience in leading innovative educator preparation programs and/or models (e.g., STEM field related preparation).Strong record of success in an academic appointment.Successful scholar with peer review publications in relevant professional journals, success in the area of grantsmanship, and/or development and publication of curricular materials that are demonstrably impactful in the field.Experience serving as a dissertation committee member and/or experience serving as a dissertation committee chair.Experience supporting and nurturing dual credit programs and/or partnerships is preferred.
SummaryThe College of Education is seeking a career academic with a record of excellence in teaching, research, and service, who has rich experience in both teaching in doctoral programming and in dissertation support, including committee service and leadership. The successful candidate will also bring experience in educator preparation and have expertise in at least one content area considered as a STEM field. Furthermore, the successful candidate will preferably have experiences in administrative leadership that offered substantial opportunity to be involved in and/or to supervise functions connected to compliance and accreditation within a college of education. Because the faculty member in this role would bring rich experience in the Academy, they will also be in a position to mentor faculty and staff and potentially serve in programmatic leadership. In-load teaching duties will be assigned. Number of courses will depend on program assignment (e.g., maximum 4:4, but could be 2:2 depending on percent of assignment to the doctoral program anticipated to start in August 2026).
ScopeCollege of Education Faculty and Program LeadershipDutiesEssential: In collaboration with the Dean, Chair, and doctoral program Director this faculty member will teach in the doctoral program anticipated for start in August 2026, serve as a dissertation chair and committee member, lead initiatives to establish and coordinate innovative educator preparation programs/models, and serving as a senior faculty member support implementation and sustainability of programmatic and structured faculty and staff mentoring programs.
SupervisionReceived: Reports to the Dean of the College of Education

Working ConditionsUsual: Eight-hour workday, forty hours per week, with some early or late hours depending on workload; and attendance at various university, community, and school activities.
