Job OverviewThe Physical Therapy and Health Sciences Program at the University of Cincinnati in the Department of Rehabilitation, Exercise and Nutrition Sciences is searching for a fulltime faculty educator who will contribute to the department’s teaching, service, and research missions. This is a 12-Month per year Educator position with rank commensurate with education and experience. The preferred start date is January 2026 but could be flexible.

The Department of Rehabilitation, Exercise & Nutrition Sciences is one of the academic units in the College of Allied Health Sciences. Our department offers graduate degrees in Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Master of Athletic Training, and Master of Nutrition Sciences. Our undergraduate Health Sciences program offers the degree of BS in Health Science with an emphasis in the concentrations of Pre-PT, Pre-AT, Pre-OT, Pre-Med, Pre-PA, Pre-Pharm, and online completer programs in pre-OT and Health Sciences. The department is housed in the new Health Sciences Building located on the UC Medical Campus.

Essential FunctionsThe responsibilities of this position are teaching and service to the Department of Rehabilitation, Exercise, and Nutrition Sciences (RENS) and College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS). The primary teaching responsibilities include courses in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and the undergraduate Health Sciences program as assigned by the Program Director or Department Chair.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, course instruction, course development, participation in student recruitment, retention, and admissions activities, participation in program committee work, including program evaluation and accreditation tasks, and other activities as assigned by Department Chair or Program Director. Position requirements will be consistent with faculty evaluative criteria and the missions of the University, College, and Department.Minimum RequirementsDoctoral degree (e.g. DPT, PhD, EdD)
Ohio Physical Therapy license (or Ohio eligible)Clinical experience in acute/medical settingsExperience teaching physical therapy courses in acute/medical Ability and interest to teach interprofessional educationExperience working in interprofessional settings Demonstration of college level teaching An equivalent of more than two (2) years of relevant full-time work-related experienceCurrent knowledge and skill in the use of computer technology and educational learning management systemsStrong interpersonal skills including communication, problem solving, conflict management, and follow-throughInterest and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary teamAdditional Qualifications ConsideredEarned non-clinical terminal degree (e.g. PhD, EdD)Experience working in an academic student physical therapy clinic (e.g. pro bono clinic)Evidence of scholarship including presentations at state or national level and publicationsEvidence of service at a state or national levelAbility to teach undergraduate pharmacology and pathophysiologyAn equivalent of four (4) or more years of relevant full-time work-related experienceDemonstration of two (2) years of full-time college level teaching experienceExperience mentoring student projects Application Process
