Join a respected Southern California criminal defense practice that combines autonomy, stability, and courtroom experience in one compelling opportunity.
A well-established firm is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney to take over an active caseload of approximately 100 matters. The firm's practice is centered around DUI defense and domestic violence representation, with occasional general criminal matters. This is an opportunity to step into a fully developed role with significant client and courtroom interaction, no ramp-up period required.
The role offers flexible remote work but requires frequent in-person appearances in courthouses across Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, and North San Diego Counties. Attorneys enjoy independence over their docket, a consistent morning-to-early-afternoon work rhythm, and no billable hour pressure.
Why This Role Stands Out:
- Caseload includes primarily DUI (75–80%) and domestic violence (20–25%)
- Work remotely, with travel to local courts
- Full-time role with option to be a 1099 contractor or W-2 employee
- Most workdays end by 2–3 p.m.
- No billing quotas or micromanagement
Compensation & Benefits:
- $90,000 – $110,000, depending on experience
- 100% employer-paid health insurance (employee only)
- PTO
- 401(k) eligibility after 90 days
- Retirement plan
You'll Handle:
- DUI and domestic violence cases from start to finish
- Court appearances throughout Southern California
- Drafting motions, pleadings, and court filings
- Regular client updates and status calls
- Working autonomously while collaborating with leadership
What You'll Need:
- At least 1 year of criminal defense experience
- Familiarity with both misdemeanor and felony cases
- Confidence managing 80–100 active files
- A valid California Bar license
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel
- Ideally located in or near the Inland Empire or San Bernardino area
About the Firm:
This thriving criminal defense practice has built its reputation over more than a decade of dedicated client advocacy. Led by an experienced attorney, the team supports a wide-reaching caseload across Southern California, with a strong emphasis on client care and courtroom performance.
