Baker at Santa Canela

Santa Canela is a Mexican pastry shop & cafe and we're looking for Bakers to join the team! We’re a Los Angeles-based Mexican panadería that celebrates Mexican flavors and techniques with seasonal pastries and baked goods created by Loreto & LA Cha Cha Chás’ pastry chef, Chef Ellen.  All positions will be hired as part-time with opportunity for full-time based on performance and availability.

This position will be working out of our commissary kitchen at 1991 Blake Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90039.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, bread, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
• Follow recipes accurately and consistently produce high-quality baked goods.
• Decorate and garnish baked goods.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to sanitation and safety standards.
• Assist with inventory management as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience in bakeries, pastry shops, and/or high volume full-service restaurant preferred
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and utilize basic math functions with fractions and decimals.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Food Handler's Certificate (preferred).
• Be comfortable with repetitive motions such as walking, bending and standing during your scheduled shift.
• Ability to carry 50 lbs.
