We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and hardworking individual to join our bakery team. In this dual-role position, you will split your time between providing excellent customer service at the counter and assisting with food preparation in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will be a positive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality products to our customers. 

Responsibilities and Duties

Cashier / Front-of-House:

  • Greet customers with a welcoming attitude and provide excellent customer service.
  • Accurately process sales transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system, and handle cash and credit card payments.
  • Answer customer questions about products, ingredients, and pricing, and provide recommendations.
  • Take special orders for custom cakes or other baked goods.
  • Package and label items for sale, ensuring products are presented attractively.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front counter, display cases, and dining area.
  • Monitor stock levels in display cases and restock with fresh products as needed. 

Kitchen Helper / Back-of-House:

  • Assist bakers and kitchen staff with food preparation, including measuring and mixing ingredients, and preparing batters and doughs.
  • Perform kitchen tasks such as chopping, slicing, and assembling baked goods or other items.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, baking trays, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a hygienic work environment.
  • Assist with the unloading and stocking of deliveries.
  • Help with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning floors and sanitizing surfaces. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a bakery, retail, or food service environment is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially regarding order accuracy and cleanliness.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and measurements.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexible availability, including the ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
