Bankruptcy and Restructuring Attorney

Setting: Regional Full-Service Law Firm

Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000 per year (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Job Type: Full-Time | Hybrid Schedule (4 days in-office / 1 remote after 90 days)

Location: Roseland, NJ

The Bankruptcy and Restructuring Attorney will join a well-established, expanding firm with a strong local and regional presence. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with financial institutions, lenders, and corporate clients across creditor’s rights, restructuring, and complex financial transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent creditors and lenders in bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
  • Negotiate, draft, and close asset-based and commercial loan agreements.
  • Assist with workouts, forbearance agreements, and recovery of distressed assets.
  • Conduct due diligence for corporate mergers, acquisitions, and real estate transactions.
  • Provide legal support for commercial real estate and banking matters.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and execute restructuring strategies.
  • Prepare and review bankruptcy filings and plan negotiations.
  • Manage multiple transactions and meet billing requirements in a hybrid work environment.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission in New Jersey (New York admission preferred).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in at least two of the following: banking/finance law, bankruptcy, real estate, or corporate transactions.
  • Proficiency in loan documentation (asset-based, CRE, or middle-market lending).
  • Strong background in creditor representation and restructuring.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management abilities.

Billing Requirement: 1,800 hours annually

Salary: The salary range listed is an estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and professional qualifications.
