Job Description

POSITION: Bar Prep 

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Bar Manager, Dining Room Manager, Lead Bartender, Bartender  
 

PURPOSE:  

The Bar Assistant supports the bar to keep all operations running smoothly. The Bar Assistant partakes in taking care of the guests by providing genuine care and hospitality while upholding the quality of food, beverage, and service. The Bar Assistant should have a genuine passion for working specifically behind the bar and eagerness to learn and grow in that field.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:  

  • Takes direction and guidance from the Bartenders  
  • Restocks the bar with spirits, batches, juices, garnishes, etc.  
  • Runs food and beverages to guests behind the bar  
  • Clears dishes and glassware from guests behind the bar  
  • Resets the bar in a timely manner for the next turn  
  • Polish glassware and restocks the station with silverware  
  • Provides attentive and quality service  
  • Strong communication skills with the team. This includes the following, but not limited to: bartender, expo, kitchen, manager on duty  
  • Upholds food knowledge by learning the ingredients, allergens, and preparation of each dish 
  • Familiarity of common food allergies  
  • Knowledge of products (such as spirit brand, beers, etc.) we carry behind the bar and the structure of the cocktail menu  
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bar 
  • Clean all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintain equipment in good working order 

 

In addition to performing the key responsibilities listed above, this position is required to perform a combination of the following:  

  • Be a team player and support other roles during service  
  • Share input and feedback to what can be improved in service to the management team  
  • Additional duties as necessary and assigned  
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment  
  • Upholds Department of Health Standards  
  • Upholds uniform guidelines and a polished appearance  
  • Consistently reports to scheduled shifts on time  
  • Provides attentiveness and excellence in service. Adheres to steps of service. Follows all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
