Job Description

QED Hospitality is a restaurant operations management group, focused on running Food & Beverage operations in boutique hotels and exclusive sites nationally. 

We bring our operational acumen to the table, developing and managing restaurants tailored to the hotel, the region and the demands of the market. These are not cookie cutter concepts, but true restaurants born of the region and based on our history.


Your job is to provide support to the bar teams to keep all operations running smoothly. Our bars also operate as a service bar for our restaurants, so keen time-management skills and focus are required. Specific expectations of the barback include assisting with prep and stocking behind the bar, maintaining a clean environment, polishing and stocking glassware, organizing and unpacking alcohol deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist bartenders with daily prep and restocking of all bar items.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar at all times.

  • Polish and restock glassware to ensure constant availability.

  • Receive, organize, and stock alcohol and bar supply deliveries.

  • Monitor stock levels and communicate needs to the bar team.

  • Support service bar operations to ensure timely and accurate drink delivery.

  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines.

  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Must have (or be in the process of applying for) a valid alcohol serving permit (specific permit will vary by state).

  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position (lifting at least 50 lbs, standing for up to 8 hours, etc.).

  • Must be able to work as a team and get along well with guests and coworkers.

  • Must be able to uphold company standards relating to appearance and dress.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Previous bar or restaurant experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of basic bar tools and operations.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

SCHEDULE: Wednesday - Sunday with the occasional evening events


PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the restaurant. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a manual dexterity and coordination to operate restaurant and office equipment and machines. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
