Kelly Government Solutions is looking for qualified Mental Health Aides to join our team at the Sam Rayburn VA Medical Center working in the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program.
What You’ll Do:
You will support Veterans in the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program at the Bonham VA Domiciliary as a non-licensed, patient-facing teammate, maintaining a safe, structured, therapeutic environment while coordinating closely with nursing and behavioral health staff.
Schedules:
- Full-Time: 40 hours per week (VA standard: 80 hours every two weeks)
- Shifts:
Overnight (Sunday–Thursday): 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Day/Evening (Tuesday–Saturday): 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Weekend and holiday coverage required
Compensation:
$20.00 - 22.00 Per hour + $5.55 per hour Health and Wellness benefits = 4,775.00 Per Month
Position Responsibilities
- Monitor residents, perform rounding, and document status in accordance with facility policy
- Report behavioral or health changes to clinical staff promptly
- Assist with intake and discharge tasks and complete required logs and checklists
- Lead or support therapeutic and recreational activities on the unit
- Escort residents within the facility and help maintain unit safety
- Follow infection control, safety procedures, and incident reporting requirements
- Use basic computer systems for documentation and timekeeping
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Will be required to obtain BLS certification upon hire
- English fluency, computer literacy, and the ability to follow SOPs and complete required training
- Professional references, including one current or most recent supervisor
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual ability is a plus
- At least one year of working experience, patient services prefeered but not required
A typical shift begins with handoff and assignment review, continues with rounds, documentation, and support for groups or recreation blocks, includes help with routines such as mealtimes and community meetings, and ends with a concise handoff and completion of logs.
You work under the direction of RNs, LPNs, social workers, and program leadership, communicate promptly about behavior changes, safety concerns, and incidents, and operate within SOPs since the role focuses on supportive care and observation.
