Behavioral Therapist at Cancard Inc.

Cancard Inc. New York, New York

Job Description

Position: Behavioral Therapist

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Cancard Inc has been a multi-technology company based in Markham (Toronto) since 1989. Both Cancard and its sister company, Advaa Health, are at the forefront of transforming primary healthcare through technological innovation. Our mission is to empower primary care physicians with state-of-the-art digital tools and solutions that streamline their practices and significantly reduce administrative burdens and operational costs. Amidst increasing paperwork and complex administrative tasks faced by healthcare professionals, we serve as a key partner, enabling physicians to focus on patient care.

Our healthcare product portfolio leverages cutting-edge technologies in data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing to offer seamless, intuitive, and cost-effective solutions. By integrating our systems, primary care practices can enhance patient engagement, optimize appointment scheduling, automate billing and coding processes, and access comprehensive patient health records in real-time. These advancements not only improve the quality of care provided but also contribute to a significant reduction in overhead costs.

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Therapist to join our team and support the delivery of evidence-based behavioral health interventions within the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide structured therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Problem-Solving Therapy (PST), or Behavioral Activation (BA).
  • Assist in implementing behavioral interventions as part of an integrated care team to support patients’ overall mental health and wellbeing.
  • Work closely under the supervision of licensed clinicians or Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, treatment progress, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with medical providers, psychiatrists, and care managers to coordinate holistic patient care.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Strong foundation in CBT, PST, or BA therapy techniques.
  • Prior experience working in integrated or collaborative care settings is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care under supervision and continuous learning.

HOW TO APPLY:

Please submit your resume, cover letter, and any relevant work samples or project portfolios to [email protected]. In your cover letter, explain why you're interested in this role and how your background and experience make you a good fit for our team.

We thank all applicants for their interest in joining Cancard, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Cancard is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
