The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical individual to work on our Finance team as a Business Analyst. In this role, you will report to the Director of Accounting Operations, and will be responsible for analyzing, improving, and supporting core accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial systems. You will participate in special projects that may include process mapping, testing automation tools, or helping evaluate new financial systems. You will assist in identifying areas of improvement and developing data-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable insights and solutions.

Key Result Areas

  • Collaborate with the IT and finance teams to streamline workflows, improve integration points, and automate processes where possible.
  • Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies in billing or payment files using data queries and system logic.
  • Work hands-on with ERP systems and Excel to analyze processes and identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, automate reports, and reconcile large data sets.
  • Participate in special projects, including system upgrades, process redesigns, and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop business use cases to support strategic initiatives and technology implementations.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate solutions against business requirements.
  • Participate in post-implementation monitoring and review to ensure solution effectiveness and identify areas for further optimization.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, data science, finance, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in a technical, analytical, or operations role Experience reviewing the work of others
  • Willingness to learn the financial side of business and grow into an accounting operations domain expert

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance industry experience, preferably in the property and casualty sector
  • Interest or background in data analytics or business operations
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets with formulas and pivot tables
  • Experience with ERP or billing systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Sage, etc.)

Compensation
The base salary will be commensurate with an individuals work experience and educational Background.
