Business Litigation Attorney at Direct Counsel

The Business Litigation Attorney will support senior attorneys in all phases of complex business litigation — from case strategy and discovery through trial. You’ll handle key assignments independently, participate in client meetings, and gain meaningful courtroom and deposition experience.

This is a position for someone who enjoys strategic thinking, persuasive writing, and working collaboratively with a strong litigation team.

• Review case facts and provide strategic legal analysis and recommendations.

• Prepare and argue pre-trial motions in state and federal courts.

• Assist lead trial attorneys in case strategy, discovery management, and witness preparation.

• Draft complex legal memoranda, motions, and pleadings.

• Prepare and take depositions, including complex deponent testimony.

• Independently manage smaller matters from intake through resolution with minimal supervision.

• Prepare motions for summary judgment and assist in trial preparation.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

• Active UT license and in good standing.

• 3–6 years of associate-level experience in complex business or commercial litigation.

• Strong familiarity with federal and state court procedures and rules.

• Excellent writing, drafting, and analytical skills.

• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and client service skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also managing tasks independently.
