A top tier Am Law 100 firm is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Counsel to join its Denver office. This off-track Counsel position is ideal for an experienced litigator who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys taking ownership of cases, and values a reduced billable requirement without sacrificing complex, high-level work.
About the Role:As Counsel, you’ll work alongside accomplished litigation partners and have the opportunity to lead on a range of sophisticated insurance-related matters. You’ll handle everything from court appearances to depositions, expert coordination, mediations, and more—while mentoring junior associates and collaborating with an elite legal team.
Key Responsibilities:Independently manage litigation tasks including court appearances, depositions, expert engagement, and mediations.
Work collaboratively with partners on overlapping matters while maintaining responsibility for individual caseloads.
Supervise or delegate to junior associates for tasks such as legal research where appropriate.
Maintain a high standard of written and oral advocacy, organization, and client communication across multiple cases.
5+ years of litigation experience, ideally defending first-party commercial and residential property claims, handling insurance coverage, and insurance class actions in Colorado.
Admitted to the Colorado Bar or eligible for immediate admission.
Strong academic credentials and outstanding communication skills—both written and verbal—are required.
Base salary range of $180,000 to $200,000+, depending on experience.
Minimum billable hour requirement: 1,800 hours/year, promoting better work-life balance.
