Busser/Runner at The Cluck House

A restaurant busser and food runner play a crucial role in the smooth operation of a restaurant. They are responsible for ensuring that tables are cleared and cleaned promptly, and that food is delivered efficiently from the kitchen to the customers. This position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Clearing and Cleaning Tables: The busser is responsible for clearing tables after customers have finished their meals. This includes removing dishes, glassware, and utensils, as well as wiping down the table and chairs to ensure cleanliness.
• Setting Up Tables: Bussers are also responsible for setting up tables before guests arrive. This includes arranging table settings, refilling condiments, and ensuring the table is clean and presentable.
• Assisting Servers: Bussers work closely with servers to ensure a smooth dining experience for customers. They may assist servers by refilling water glasses, delivering bread or appetizers, and providing any additional support needed during service.
• Food Delivery: In addition to bussing tables, a food runner is responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to the appropriate tables. They must ensure that the correct food is delivered promptly and in the right order.
• Communication: Bussers and food runners need to effectively communicate with the kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to ensure that food is delivered correctly and timely. They should also be able to communicate with customers politely and professionally.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Bussers may be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the dining area, including sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, and restocking supplies.

Requirements:

• Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and lift heavy trays or bus tubs.
