Job Description
Fine dining steakhouse located in New Orleans is looking for a skilled and passionate Butcher to join our team. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality meats and exceptional customer service to our guests. If you have a strong knowledge of meat preparation techniques, excellent knife skills, and a commitment to food safety, we want to hear from you.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Cut, trim, bone, and prepare various types of beef into the correct-sized portions and specialty cuts according to company standards.
- Operate and maintain butchering tools and equipment safely; including knives, meat saws, slicers, grinders, and vacuum machines.
- Weigh, package, and vacuum seal products accurately and ensure all displays are attractive.
- Receive, inspect, rotate and store incoming meat shipments to ensure quality and freshness, following proper rotation procedures (FIFO).
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Monitor inventory levels, track sales, and assist with ordering supplies to prevent shortages and minimize waste.
Candidates should be detail oriented and reliable. Knife skills and the ability to identify both cut steaks and primal cuts is a must. Band saw use and dry age experience is prefered.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35–40 per week

- Weekends/Holidays as needed
Required Skillsets:
- Proven experience as a Butcher or Meat Cutter
- Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat, beef in particular, and various preparation techniques.
- Excellent knife-handling skills and manual dexterity to ensure precision and safety.
- Ability to work in a cold environment and stand for extended periods, as well as lift heavy items (e.g., up to 50 lbs).
- Attention to detail to ensure product quality and accurate labeling.
- Meat cutting: 5 years (Preferred)
