About the Role:

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Buyer to support purchasing operations for a valued client. This full-time position involves reviewing and managing purchasing, inventory, and pricing reports for accounting purposes, assisting with reporting tasks, and maintaining strong vendor and internal communication. The ideal candidate will have excellent math skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and be comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and manage purchasing, inventory, and pricing reports for accounting
• Assist Purchasing personnel with data analysis and reporting
• Perform accurate data entry and maintain procurement records (ERP system experience preferred)
• Check purchase and work orders for accuracy and completeness
• Contact suppliers to verify order status, delivery dates, and resolve issues
• Calculate prices, discounts, shortages, and overages accurately
• Perform other customary purchasing and procurement tasks as needed
• Communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments
• Stay organized and maintain accurate documentation and digital records

Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ability to train on company software
• Strong math skills; ability to calculate prices, discounts, shortages, and overages
• Excellent organizational and clerical skills
• Accurate and fast data entry and typing skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to read and write in English at a 12th-grade level or higher
• Comfortable using a telephone and communicating with suppliers
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus
