Job Description

Upscale French Café is looking for a professional and experienced Café Floor Manager. The Floor Manager works with the General Manager to assure that guests are always provided an exceptional experience by assisting with day-to-day operations, such as overseeing staff and maintaining quality standards throughout the Café. The floor manager is an essential role and requires strong leadership and communication skills.  

Location: Café Bilboquet, 26 East 60th Street New York, NY 10022 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Supports the General Manager in daily operations and ensures consistent adherence to company policies and procedures. 
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including interviewing, hiring and training new employees. 
  • Manages onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for all employees. 
  • Provides ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and disciplinary actions when necessary, including terminations. 
  • Acts as a point of contact for employee concerns and escalate issues as appropriate. 
  • Maintains a high standard of service and quality of food. 
  • Maintains store appearance and cleanliness. 
  • Establishes and builds guests relationships through personalized service. 
  • Maintains excellent customer service by remaining present and engaged in all aspects of service throughout the Café. 
  • Ensures store profitability by increasing sales and lowering expenses. 
  • Performs all orders for the store and maintains inventory. 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Possesses exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail  
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and managerial abilities 
  • Demonstrates outstanding customer service skills  
  • Communicate standards of excellent hospitality to others  
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, as well as computer knowledge of Micros and Excel  
  • Must hold a current Food Handler’s license or must obtain within a month of hire  

Languages: French and Italian (highly preferred)
