Café Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a scratch kitchen or upscale, high-volume restaurant environment
- Strong proficiency in bread and pastry production, including dough fermentation, lamination, and dessert execution
- Proven track record in training, coaching, and team development
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on creativity and consistency
- Solid understanding of food cost control, labor management, and safety compliance
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
Café Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills:
- Experience in designing seasonal menus and daily specials
- Knowledge of local and sustainable product sourcing
- Strong communication skills for effective team leadership
- Passion for artisan craftsmanship and culinary innovation
- Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and consistency across menu items and specials
