Position Overview
AM 790 KABC is seeking a part-time board operator in Culver City, California. The part-time board operator will report directly to KABC's Program Director and be responsible for running the broadcast console during live talk programs, live sports broadcasts and other live programming needs. Plus, be responsible for recording, mixing and editing full length programs, podcasts, segments and other production elements as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record operating a broadcast console for (a) major market radio station(s), have excellent communication skills, be detail oriented, organized, and possess the ability to work solo or with a team. Knowledge of Adobe Audition and OPX automation preferred but not required. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Operate broadcast console during live talk programs.
- Run live remote broadcast (both talk and sports)
- Knowledge of COMREX, SAS, OPX, Cleanfeed and Zoom a plus.
- Ensure all commercials run as indicated on the commercial log.
- Monitor on-air content and dump any unfavorable language as directed by KABC's Program Director.
- Forwarding EAS test as instructed by Chief Engineer and mandated by FCC rule.
- Record, edit and mix full length programs, podcasts, segments, etc.
- Commercial spot dubbing.
- Posting content to KABC's podcast page.
- Troubleshoot technical problems in a timely manner.
Desired Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of board operator experience (or other audio engineering role).
- Experience working with OP-X Automation (or similar systems).
- Ability to record, edit and mix using Adobe Audition.
- Strong track record and dependability.
- Must be organized, detail oriented and possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Available to work weekends and holidays.
