Job Description
A respected nonprofit organization in New York City is seeking a new CASAC Counselor to join one of their residential substance use treatment programs in Queens. In this role, the CASAC Counselor will be responsible for supporting individuals in recovery through structured, trauma-informed services delivered by a collaborative, mission-driven team. Staff are engaged, leadership is supportive, and the work environment is deeply rooted in community care.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Program: Residential Substance Use Treatment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions
- Develop, implement, and revise treatment and recovery plans
- Apply evidence-based practices (e.g., motivational interviewing)
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in Behavioral Health or Substance Use Treatment
- High School Diploma / GED
- Active CASAC-2 or higher required
