Position Summary
Recruit, retain, and sustain strategic partnerships focused on the teaching and learning of mathematics (early childhood-elementary/span) with public and private local education agencies, school districts, individual sites, and other educational entities. Provide direct support for PK-6 teachers, paraprofessionals, school leaders, instructional leadership teams associated with our existing Cognitively Guided Instruction action research project partnership with a large urban school district. Major responsibilities include co-designing and facilitating professional learning opportunities, with a particular emphasis on recruiting and supporting teachers new to the work.

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
Professional Development Minimum 5 years of coaching/professional development experience (Preferred) An understanding of the research, and practical experience with, Cognitively Guided Instruction. (Required) Prior experience with the principles and practices of Cognitively Guided Instruction as an elementary teacher and elementary mathematics coach. (Required) Prior experience with supporting students in elementary mathematics classrooms. (Required) Prior experience providing professional development for educators. (Required) Ability to positively communicate and build relationships with a range of stakeholders (colleagues, principals, instructional leaders, teachers, families, etc.) (Required) Ability to design, implement, evaluate, and revise content for a range of audiences that is aligned with the research and elementary mathematics content and frameworks. (Required) Ability to recruit, develop, nurture, and sustain relationships with teacher leaders from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. (Required) Working knowledge of UCLA/Center X policies and practices. (Required)

Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent (Required)
