Cheesemonger at La Jambe
Job Description
La Jambe is seeking a Cheesemonger at our bar/deli in Union Market. We are looking for an excited, experienced, and passionate person to help us make La Jambe a reference in retail cheese.
We are a small group of passionate professionals who own & operate a French wine bar, La Jambe, Union Market, NE DC. In addition to the wine, we also have a full bar (French or local spirits only), and serve a menu consisting of traditional French dishes, cheese, charcuterie and seasonal French specialties.
We are looking for a candidate who has the following:
- One-plus year of experience in a cheese/deli/speciality store
- Strong knowledge in cheeses
- Strong knowledge in Charcuterie
- Know how to operate an electric slicer
- Knowledge in wine and cheese pairings a plus
- Ability to make recommendations to customers
This is a small restaurant with a small kitchen, and a very close-knit ownership/management team. If you are looking for a corporate environment this is not the position for you.
