Working collaboratively with our well-experienced Food Service Supervisor, the Chef will monitor and evaluate the food and beverage service for residents, employees and visitors at Auburn Village. Also, we have a lot of fun "retreats" for our organization's Chefs that include in-services and friendly competitions!

Responsibilities of the Chef:

· Coordinate all training activities

· Ensure quality of food preparation and presentation

· Help develop portion specifications in accordance with consumer/residents’ taste, nutritional needs, product specifications, ease of preparation, and budgetary constraints

· Participate in other menu planning activities to include the determinations of purchasing specifications, products and recipe testing, and menu development

· Prepare operational reports and analyses and make appropriate recommendations


IND1

Requirements:

· Experience as a Chef required

· Sanitation Certification

· Must be Certified in Culinary Arts

· Strong administrative, managerial and interpersonal skills

· Must be able to work some weekends

· Experience in a long-term care, senior living and/or healthcare facility where group (not individual) meals are prepared

· Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA

· Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding of older adults
