Chief Development Lead / Director Level / VP McLean, VA (Onsite Role) Duration: 3+ Months CTH Must Have Qualifications: Overall 10+ years of hands-on experience in Java, (.Net i snice to have), Python, Cloud- AWS, Microservices, Kubernetes, Angular- last 5 years of versions in all. 7-8 years of leadership leading developers. Job Description: Design the overall technological design of the product with the help of the teams and BU Architect. Ensure technical detailed design is compliant with the Architecture decision and bring to the attention of the architect if the product team cannot be in compliance for any reason. Responsible for High Level design document, sequence diagrams, Guide Agile teams on technology strategy related to coding practices, continuous integration, and automated deployment. Responsible for technical design and infrastructure / environments strategy, including deployments, ensuring that these are kept in-line with product roadmap and with MVP mindset. Work with the team to help empower and provide the right tools to deliver sprint goals. Mentor and coach the technical team including Dev Leads, specifically with code quality when needed. Identify and remove technical impediments. Work with the Chief Product Owner to align the roadmap with strengths and opportunities within the technical stack. Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid to challenge the status quo. Provide the teams a roadmap for implementing software engineering practices. Share responsibility with Chief Product Owner for building reusable and scalable components. Provide transparency to Dev Leads and Architecture for evolving priority and design changes. Call Notes from Manager: The role focuses on Underwriting or Servicing Asset Management. Looking for a Development Lead or Manager who will be responsible for software delivery. The person will collaborate with business stakeholders, set priorities, provide estimates, and offer feasible technical solutions. Should have the ability to see the bigger picture across the Multifamily division. The role is not focused on business functionality delivery, but rather on proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives to gain the confidence and respect of technical leads. As an Architect, the expectation is to perform hands-on POC work and demonstrate recent, strong development experience. Technical Skills: Top 3: Java, Angular, Python (experience in .NET is nice to have, but not required) Strong understanding of microservices architecture, Java backend with Spring Boot Familiarity with SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) Frontend exposure to Angular GCP experience (they use GCP, not native AWS) Kubernetes (EKS) as the orchestrator Basic understanding of S3 and EC2 No prior mortgage industry experience required. No day-to-day coding expected, but must understand: How code is built Security vulnerabilities Technical architecture and development lifecycle The candidate should be capable of managing 4–5 teams, working with Product Owners, Chief Product Owners, and other Chief Development Leads (CDLs). Overall, this is a strategic technical leadership role—not hands-on daily coding, but with enough technical depth to guide development and ensure delivery quality.
