Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer to join our senior leadership team at a hospital/acute-care facility. This role will provide financial leadership across all operations, partnering with clinical and administrative leaders to drive financial performance, growth, and sustainability within a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance function including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, revenue cycle, and capital planning.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive margin improvement, cost efficiency, and revenue growth.
- Monitor and analyze service line profitability, cost structures, and operational metrics to inform decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accounting (GAAP or applicable standards), and healthcare reimbursement rules.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to finance, accounting, revenue management and other related teams.
- Prepare and present timely financial statements, dashboards, board materials, and management reports.
- Partner with other senior leaders (CEO, COO, CMO, department heads) in strategic planning, business development, and investment decisions.
- Oversee financial risk management, cash flow, and treasury operations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and department heads to align financial targets with operational and quality goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required; Master’s preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent credential preferred.
- Significant Hospital/Medical Center/Behavioral healthcare financial leadership experience (8-10 years +), with prior experience in a hospital, medical centre or acute-care setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, revenue cycle, reimbursement methodologies, and financial systems.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills; ability to lead teams and influence across functions.
- Experience with ERP systems (EPIC or Maximo), financial modeling and scenario planning in a fast-paced environment.
